Dewetron Demonstrates CMMC Level 2 Readiness with Perfect 110 SPRS Score, Highlighting Proactive Security Leadership with Partner AXIOTROP FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Narragansett, RI – [Current Date] – Dewetron, a global leader in precision test and measurement systems, announced it has achieved a perfect Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) score of 110, demonstrating its posture for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 assessment. This significant milestone was achieved through a strategic partnership with cybersecurity firm AXIOTROP. For any company in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), CMMC certification is a prerequisite for winning and retaining Department of War (DoW) contracts. As a key supplier of mission-critical technology to the aerospace industry, Dewetron proactively confronted the challenge of aligning its cybersecurity posture with the stringent CMMC Level 2 requirements. Recognizing this imperative, Dewetron sought specialized expertise to navigate the complex compliance landscape, remediate any gaps, and validate its security framework against the highest federal standards. Leveraging the regional industry expertise of Polaris MEP, Dewetron selected AXIOTROP as its CMMC consulting partner to engineer its compliance strategy. “Dewetron’s commitment to cybersecurity excellence truly sets them apart,” said Joe Devine, President of AXIOTROP. “From the start, their team approached CMMC Level 2 compliance with focus, transparency, and urgency. Their proactive approach strengthens not only their organization, but the security and resilience of the Defense Industrial Base as a whole.” The partnership has yielded quantifiable results that serve as definitive proof of Dewetron's strengthened cybersecurity posture and unwavering commitment to protecting sensitive defense information. AXIOTROP Becomes First Rhode Island-Based C3PAO as Title 48 Goes into Effect Providence, RI – In a decisive move that comes as the U.S. Department of War (DOW) completes the rollout of CMMC, AXIOTROP has officially been Authorized as a CMMC Third-Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO). An important accomplishment that empowers the firm to conduct cybersecurity certification assessments for defense contractors nationwide. This status is critical because the CMMC Title 48 CFR acquisition rule, which enables the pentagon to add CMMC into contracts, was published in the Federal Register on September 10, 2025, and goes into effect on November 10, 2025. Starting on that effective date, all new DOW solicitations and contracts may include some level of CMMC requirement as a condition of award. With stricter cybersecurity mandates now taking effect, companies that are not certified face the imminent threat of disqualification from DOW work. AXIOTROP’s new C3PAO status arrives at this critical inflection point, offering contractors in Rhode Island, New England, and beyond a direct line to compliance and continued eligibility for defense funding. “Defense suppliers don’t have years to get compliant anymore, they have months,” said Joe Devine, President of AXIOTROP. “This certification means we can now help companies quickly meet federal requirements and continue doing business with the government without disruption”. C3PAO Status and Implementation Urgency C3PAOs are authorized by the Cyber Accreditation Body (Cyber-AB) to independently evaluate whether companies meet the cybersecurity standards outlined in the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework. These assessments are mandatory for organizations handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in the DOW supply chain. Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification, which means implementing all 110 controls of NIST SP 800-171r2, requires significant time, often taking small businesses 9–12 months on average for gap remediation and assessment preparation. AXIOTROP is now the first company in Rhode Island, the fourth in New England, and among an elite group nationally with the authority to conduct official CMMC assessments. This designation positions the firm as a strategic lifeline, particularly for small to mid-sized contractors who often lack the in-house resources to navigate complex compliance requirements. The 48 CFR rule officially authorizes contracting officers to include the DFARS 252.204-7021 clause in contracts and grants them the authority to enforce CMMC language. Offers can be deemed ineligible if the required CMMC status is not present and current in the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). “CMMC is about securing our national security information and protecting our warfighters,” Devine added. “And we’re proud to make sure every contractor, no matter their size, has the tools and support to meet CMMC requirements”. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About C3PAO Certification C3PAOs are independent firms accredited by the Cyber-AB to assess compliance with the Department of War’s CMMC framework. Certification is a requirement for organizations in the Defense Industrial Base that handle sensitive DOW data. About AXIOTROP AXIOTROP is a cybersecurity advisory and assessment firm headquartered in Narragansett, RI. As a newly authorized C3PAO, AXIOTROP delivers end-to-end CMMC readiness and assessment services to contractors worldwide, helping them stay compliant, secure, and competitive in the DOW marketplace. AXIOTROP Attains CMMC Certification for Fifth Year and Achieves New Certification AXIOTROP is re-certified by The Cyber AB for 2025 as a Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO) and Becomes a Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO). NARAGANNSETT, RHODE ISLAND, USA, December 10, 2025 - AXIOTROP has been re-certified by The CYBER AB as a Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO) for the fourth-year running. This accreditation allows AXIOTROP to act as a partner to companies seeking Level 1 and 2 CMMC certification to continue to do business within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). AXIOTROP has also recently become a Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO). This certification allows AXIOTROP to perform Level 2 assessments against NIST 800-171 standards for DoW contractors. The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a Department of War (DoW) program designed to protect the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and contractors from cyber-attacks, which have become increasingly common. The program aims to ensure contractors can protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) and federal contract information (FCI). Why does this matter? Since 2016 the U.S. Department of War (DoW) has required companies to protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) and federal contract information as a requirement for doing business in the DIB. This past year both Title 32 and Title 48 were published meaning that the contractual requirements set but title 32 became enforceable under title 48 in DoW contracts as a bid gate. As an RPO, AXIOTROP can provide CMMC compliance and support to companies impacted by these new regulations and develop their cybersecurity programs. Joe Devine, president of AXIOTROP says “with CMM C 2.0 about to emerge from rulemaking, now is the time for DIB suppliers to improve their cybersecurity maturity posture in preparation for their third-party assessment.” About AXIOTROP AXIOTROP is a Cybersecurity Compliance Firm offering clients leading services in cybersecurity assessment, remediation, and validation to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their regulated information. As an RPO, AXIOTROP can help you comply with regulations, reduce the gaps in your security program, and improve your cybersecurity compliance posture. As a C3PAO, AXIOTROP can conduct CMMC Level 2 certification assessments for organizations seeking certification. AXIOTROP’s mission is to make cybersecurity accessible, attainable, and sustainable for small and medium-sized businesses, so they remain competitive and poised for growth. We simplify cybersecurity by working closely with businesses to right-size their program for their needs, resulting in client retention, business expansion, and reduced risk.
